A convincing urban UK spin on the rock-rap crossover. Rock is a truly international language. It has been batted back and forwards across the pond more times than can be counted, but for some reason hip-hop has never had the same case of passage. Salt makes sense that any UK band intent on matching the rhymespitting styles of hip-hop with heavy, banging rock would be better off looking closer to home for inspiration instead of trying to sound like Limp Bizkit.

Floors + Walls sound completely unique in that they marry the streetwise Brit punk of The Jam to a plausibly grime-based delivery of Mike Skinner or Dizzee Rascal. This melange of The Arctic Monkeys. The Ordinary Boys and The Streets won't be for everyone, but is unique enough to be worth keeping an eye on. ••••••
