Into The Fire
Repertoire
Russ gave AOR to you.
This 1981 album finds Russ Ballard five albums into a solo career after leaving Argent, for whom he wrote God Gave Rock ‘N’ Roll To You that Kiss later turned into a glam rock anthem. And it’s stuffed full of the kind of hooks, riffs, power chords and tight harmonies that the likes of Journey, Toto or Starship could have turned into monster AOR hits.
Ballard could have probably done it himself if he’d spent a couple of years touring America. Instead, Into The Fire is a Great Lost AOR album, along with 1979’s At The Third Stroke and 1980’s Barnet Dogs .
