NUCLEAR ASSAULT Radiation Sickness

Cherry Red Ffims
A thrash-tastic assault.
As thrash metal enjoys a welcome present-day resurgence, so this timely DVD reminds us what it was like when the genre was new 20 years ago, and when bands such as New York's mighty Nuclear Assault were very much state of the art.
Filmed at the Hammersmith Odeon in June 1987. this is a full-frontal attack nothing less. And it's questionable whether the band started by former Anthrax bassist Dan Lilker were ever better. There's no room for subtlety or balance. The crowd are baying for blood and they get it in spades, espcially in the form of Butt fuck, Hang The Pope and Lesbians.
There are no extras here. Just 40 minutes of unreconstructed thrash and that's enough. ••••••
