Imagine my great surprise when (not having seen a photograph of Angus Young for some time) I glanced at page 41 of Classic Rock issue 57 and saw an AC/DC line-up including what appeared to be Mark Knopfler, of Dire Straits fame, on lead guitar. For a moment I thought I had chanced upon your ‘What if...?’ feature.

Hold on, though. Perhaps that case of mistaken identity is not altogether inappropriate, given that some of Dire Straits’ song titles would not be too out of place in an AC/DC set list (‘Tunnel Of Love’ or ‘Southbound Again’, for example). However, other titles such as ‘Romeo And Juliet’ may be far too chaste for inclusion.

Seriously, the AC/DC article was a good warm-up for their next album release. I’ll bet the ‘live’ collaboration with the Stones was worth hearing!
