Soundtrack tune holds up new Martyn release 0 ohn Martyn's long-awaited new album 'Glasgow Walker', originally due for release last October on the Independiente label, has been delayed until March a hiatus that's given the chance for a bonus track to be added. The revamped version will now include his version of jazz legend Chet Baker's 'You Don't Know What Love Is', and this could prove crucial in bringing the work of the 51-year-old singer/ guitarist to a wider public at last.

The reason is that the song will also be included in new movie The Talented Mr Ripley, which is expected to open in March and stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett and Jude Law. Apparently, the film's director Anthony Minghella is a long-time Martyn fan and it was he who insisted on the man's involvement with the song, despite initial opposition from the movie's backers, Paramount.
