Buggles pair make shock return.

YES HAVE REUNITED with the Buggles – in a manner speaking. While preparing their first new studio album since 2001’s Magnification , the veteran band decided to bring in Trevor Horn, along with keyboard player Geoffrey Downes (a member of progressive rock giants Yes circa the Drama album in 1980) to produce their new album, Fly From Here . Downes, who later went on to form Asia, appears on the record and will also be touring with Yes when they hit the road in July.

Horn – who was at the helm for Yes’s 90125 and Big Generator albums, and has also produced Paul McCartney, Mike

Oldfield, Tina Turner and Seal – claims that he had only intended to work on selected tracks from the new record, which is released on Frontiers in July.

He jokes: “When I arrived in America I was taken prisoner by the band, and only allowed my freedom again in return for producing the whole album. It was an offer I couldn’t refuse.” Yes’s UK dates are: Cambridge Corn Exchange November 8, Sheffield City Hall 9, Birmingham Symphony Hall 11, Glasgow Clyde Auditorium 12, Manchester Apollo 13, Brighton Dome 15, Bristol Colston Hall 16, London Hammersmith Apollo 17.
