David Gilmour’s new album On An Island was recorded at his own studio on his houseboat moored by his home on the River Thames. The floating studio is also where Pink Floyd’s last album, The Division Bell, was produced.

Gilmour worked on the songs with Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera, and most of the songs’ lyrics were written by Gilmour’s wife Polly. The album also features contributions from illustrious musical friends including David Crosby, Graham Nash, Robert Wyatt and Jools Holland.

Where have all the real rock stars gone?
DAVID GILMOUR
