of a thriller called The Prestige. Bowie is set to play inventor Nikola Tesla in the movie. Bowie’s past movie appearances include The Man Who Fell To Earth (1976), Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983), Basquiat (1996) and Mr. Rice’s Secret (2000).
U2 guitarist The Edge has initiated a campaign called Music Rising, which aims to replace musical instruments lost in the hurricanes that devastated America’s Gulf Coast last summer. A limited-edition Music Rising guitar, manufactured by Gibson, will feature hand-painted designs using the colors of Mardi Gras. Swedish hard rockers Million are seeking a replacement for guitarist Jonas Hermansson, who has quit the band due to “personal reasons”.
Singer Bruce Dickinson (pictured) has told MTV Brazil that Iron Maiden are to begin a new studio album in March with producer Kevin Shirley. It is hoped that the follow-up to 2003’s Dance Of Death will be released in the autumn, and it will be followed by a European tour in October.
