Diamond Dave reflects on Cherone's departure

0 ormer Van Haien frontman David Lee Roth has spoken for the first time about the controversial departure of the band's most recent singer, Gary Cherone. It had been widely touted that Roth might be re-joining the band he left in 1985 a rumour he firmly denied when Classic Rock caught up with him.

"I don't have any idea what the boys in Van Haien Wacky World are going to do," he commented not in the least bit sarcastically. "I haven't heard from them. However, I'm sure they'll find some way to screw up a good thing."

He continued: "I feel bad for Gary. It's obvious that he didn't realise he was going to be a puppet."

When asked whether he had any jobseeking advice for the former Extreme singer, Roth quipped: "Yes. Unfortunately, they all involve street corners in Manhattan!"
