East Coast titans continue to refuse to die.

Arguably the most prolific of all the original US thrash metal

I: .4 bands, Overkill have barely paused for breath during their two decades of frontline action. With only a couple of quality dips along the way, the New Yorkers have consistently delivered strong albums, and I mmortal is is yet another that hits the metallic spot.

Opener Devils In The Mist is classic Overkill; a raging, snotencrusted blast of jagged riffs, topped with ultra-craggy frontman Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth's spiteful rasp. Everything else adheres to the same template, albeit with plenty of tempo shifts and moments of downbeat menace. The true highlight. however, is Hellish Pride, wherein Ellsworth joins forces with Blaze Bayley to calmly

offer out the rest of the world, fists raised in anticipation. Startling. •••••••••
