New album due in spring.

BON JOVI ARE LINING UP A NEW STUDIO ALBUM AND WORLD tour. The New Jersey band, whose modestly titled boxed anthology ‘100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can’t Be Wrong’ is released on November 16, describe the follow-up to last year’s acoustic album ‘This Left Feels Right’ as “a loud-guitar, big- rock record”.

Bon Jovi hired producer John Shanks (Sheryl Crow/Joe Cocker/Celine Dion) to work with them on the as yet untitled album, and also co-write some of the songs alongside vocalist Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora. Songs include ‘Last Man Standing’, which JBJ wrote to express his “disgust of the music business in general; its lack of true vision when it comes to supporting the artistry of developing a song, the songwriter and the bands on the road”.

Elaborating, Jon Bon Jovi told Billboard.com: “Instead of creating what Andy Warhol called ‘15 minutes of fame’, it’s [now] three minutes and 30 seconds. I don’t know how this industry [will] have another Bob Dylan when it’s all about the single, [not] the album, the vision and that inspiration. [It’s] all for the sake of a 99-cent download so they can sell bulk and make their bonuses. It’s heart-breaking.”
