But band expected to continue.
THIN TIZZY'S MANAGEMENT have confirmed that guitarist/vocalist John Sykes has left the band. The departure of Sykes, who helped reactivate Lizzy in 1996 and was a driving force behind their continued touring activity a decade after the death of bassist/frontman Phil Lynott, caps a troubled period of the band's history.
At press time, the split with Sykes was still unexplained, though a statement released by Gorham implied that the group will remain a going concern: 'Firstly with I ommy's injury [broken collarbone] and now the subsequent decision for John and the rest of the group to go their separate ways, it's been a very tough 11 rue of late... "I can only apologise to everyone who has supported us over the years, but we will be back up to full speed soon." DL
