"SAME TIME NEXT YEAR?!"
From page 5 of Classic Rock Magazine August 2006
Would just like to say what a great time me and my family had on Saturday. What weather as well, just to make things perfect. I wondered if there were any plans being drawn up for another Monsters of Rock for 2007, and if so could I be put on the mailing list so I can get booked up early: tickets, accommodation etc?
PS: Thanks for the VIP pass for the signing tent. My wife was well pleased to get all of Thunder’s autographs, and thought they were a real nice bunch? David and Denise Harrington, via email This issue of Classic Rock went to press a week after Monsters, and your responses were still flooding in. Most of them were postive, although many shared the niggles expressed here.
The signing tent/subscribers VIP passes: we have to hold our hands up here. Never having done this before, we didn’t anticipate quite how many people would come to the signing tent. On the day, people were queuing way in advance of the signing, creating enormous queues of subscribers and non-subscribers. The bands had agreed to sign for 20 minutes each. In the end, Roadstar, Thunder, Journey and Steve Morse all stayed way beyond that. Thanks to them, and apologies to anyone who was disappointed.
To be fair, we thought security did a great job: everything ran smoothly and safely (and they don’t make the rules, after all). Will there be a ‘next year’? Along with many of you, we hope so.
