BMG

Expansive compilation reaped from their 7” back-catalogue.

Some wags may suggest that the title of this collection should be in the singular rather than the plural, given that BÖC will forever be classed as one-hit wonders. Needless to say (Don’t Fear) The Reaper has a pivotal role in their history and it’s astounding that the label has managed to gather together 20 singles for this release. But away from the millstone that ...The Reaper became, there’s enough substantiation here to make their plentiful detractors look ill-informed.

The lively Hot Rails To Hell and Take Me Away demonstrate their aptitude for writing upbeat material and even the plodding Godzilla has a certain cheesy charm. A first- rate introduction to an unfairly maligned band.
