Despite an
over-
abundance of teeth Pat Benatar gave the boys something to drool over in the lands before time when AOR ruled American airwaves.
Her gritty, melodic rock served her well too, even becoming a UK chart star with 1984’s Love Is A Battlefield, although she has fared less well in the post-80s musical climate. This 20-track collection is enjoyable enough, yet Hit Me With Your Best Shot and Hell Is For Children, her finest songs, have not aged well. Her turn towards more synth-laden fare now sounds plain horrible, though All Fired Up redresses the balance. Alas all we could offer by way of return was Lisa Dominique!
