Drilling The Vein IV

T he latest in Roadrunner Records' estimable series of lowprice video compilations designed to showcase some of the finest examples of extreme contemporary rock music. Drilling The Vein /Vfeatures promo clips from sucitop names in the nu metal sphere as Spineshank, Fear Factory, oulfly, Slipknot, Type 0 Negative, Machine Head and Sepultura, not to mention the much-missed Workhorse Movement and the fastrising Downer, Glassjaw and Nickelback.
The quality series, of course, varies, but what they do is capture the reason why we're currently going through a very exciting phase in rock and metal music. And why there's little doubt that in a decade, this sort of compilation will have the same impact as punk film from the 1970s, and early videos of bands such as Iron Maiden.
Right at the cutting edge, Drilling The Vein IV is
testimony to the power and musical passion of 2001. For that alone it deserves to be supported.
