One Man & His 30W Pram ADJUST

Keeping the toys in the pram. Catching the lo-fi busking experience on record is a tricky business. What sounds impressive in a subway can lose its lustre when piped through expensive speakers in your sitting room. But one-man-band Lewis Floyd Henry, a YouTube celebrity courtesy of his highoctane Hendrix and Wu Tang Clan covers, keeps his shine. He also keeps to his own lively and varied compositions.

There’s a loose Hendrix vibe to Magic Carpet and the spacey, sci-fi Guardian Angels , and a Physical Graffiti feel to the frenzied Good News . But the flair he shows on the opening Sacred Gardens and Rickety Ol’ Rollercoaster is all his.

It’s easy to say that most songs would sound better with a real band. But would Henry sound better? Probably not. ■■■■■■■■■■
