IN THE PINK OVER THE BLUES Thank you for the excellent article on the new blues explosion [issue 142].
From page 98 of Classic Rock Magazine April 2010
As a long-standing blues fan I was always tied into the classics. Yes, I am one of those 40-somethings clutching his pint at blues clubs. Recently I have been taken by the music of Joe Bonamassa and have been affected by Seasickness. Having read your article I went out and bought Open Road by Oli Brown.
What an album. Not only does he play with real feeling and skill but he also brings a freshness to the genre that has to be heard. I will now be looking up a number of others on your list, and if they are half as good then I will be a very happy chappie.
The only thing that could have been better was for you to produce a CD selection of these artists – now that would be a sampler.
I was also very impressed with the Aerosmith article. This was firstrate journalism and a testament to being in the right place at the right time. I’ve been with you since issue one and the magazine is getting stronger all the time ( except for those Top 100 lists, bloody boring, they are).
